Spacious, tastefully restored and characteristic stone farmhouse in a picturesque Umbrian valley. The property is fully fenced with views of the surrounding gentle hills and the odd Medieval Village or Castle!
The Villa is completely independent surrounded by cultivated fields and grapevines ensuring maximum peace and privacy. In spite of the relaxed countryside location the Villa is just a few minutes drive from the large town of Marsciano that features a host of good restaurants, bars, specialty shops and supermarkets.
The area provides ample opportunities for gentle country strolls and 3 mountain bikes are available for guests to use. Several historical Umbrian Castles are within easy reach and over the summer months there are many gastronomic festivals featuring the best of local products and specialty dishes including Fettucine or Gnocchi with a goose sauce, roasted lamb, rabbit, goose and duck.
The loving restoration of the Villa was only completed in 2007 and your gracious hosts Angela & Marco (along with daughter Chiara and little Francesco) provide a very warm welcome to Umbria. Angela thoughtfully stocks the spacious kitchen with all the essentials and provides provisions for your first breakfast at the Villa along with a specially home baked cake. They live not far from the Villa and can be called upon in the event that you require any additional information or assistance.
Ground Floor
The main entrance leads to the rustic but very comfortable dining/lounge featuring an open fireplace, dining table and 2 sofas with views over the garden, surrounding fields and gentle hills. There is also a Satellite TV. To the right is the large kitchen that features a breakfast table, ample bench space with modern facilities including a dishwasher. Sliding doors lead from the dining/lounge to the charming terracotta tiled Loggia where there is an outdoor table for picturesque meals al fresco. Just a few paces and there is a covered pergola and the swimming pool for your exclusive enjoyment.
Also on the ground floor is the first of the three spacious bedrooms that features a double and also a single bed. Right next door is a well appointed bathroom with large shower.
First Floor
Wide tiled stairs lead to the Upper level of the Villa that features another two spacious bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms. It is possible to arrange for an additional single bed in the larger of the two and the en suite of this bedroom also features a bath. Delightful countryside panoramas from every window and with the thick stone walls the Villa remains pleasantly cool even during the hottest months of the Umbrian Summer.
The town of Marsciano is just a 10 minute drive from Todi, 20 mins from Perugia and 30 mins from the spiritual, world famous town of Assisi in additional to a host of other historical Umbrian towns well worth a visit. While in the heart of the Umbrian countryside, Rome is only 150 km away, approx 1.5 hours by car.
