Located amongst the chestnut groves in the peaceful hills above Caprese Michelangelo, the Villa enjoys complete tranquility and a panoramic outlook and is just a 2 minute stroll from a genuine local restaurant.
On 3 levels, the Villa is relatively modern by Italian standards but has been constructed in the traditional way using stones, this factor combined with the higher altitude ensures that it remains pleasantly cool even during the hottest months of the Tuscan summer.
The garden enjoys the shade of the chestnut trees and has a charming outlook over the valley. There is a large outdoor table beside the traditional stone oven and BBQ facilities. The property is ideally suited to families with small children as it is completely fenced.
Entrance into the spacious lounge/dining room that features a large stone fireplace and satellite TV. Adjacent is the well equipped kitchen that includes a dishwasher and plenty of bench space. The ground floor also hosts 2 single bedrooms, a double with great views and a bathroom with shower/bathtub.
A further 2 double rooms and second bathroom are on the upper floor along with an additional room featuring a sofa/divan. Given that the Villa has just 2 bathrooms, it is better suited to a group of 6 or 8, leaving this extra room as a playroom for kids or extra space to relax with your holiday novel.
The cellar features a large billiard table and all the necessary accessories are available for guests to enjoy a game or two.
A popular local restaurant Mariuccia [ see Restaurant Reviews ] is just a few minutes walk from the property and the sleepy town of Valboncione is approximately a 20 minute stroll away. In addition there are a number of hiking trails in the area, from short walks to full on treks as far as the famous Monastery La Verna. Departing reasonably early, one can enjoy a hearty lunch at the Monastery and be home before sundown.
The larger town of Caprese Michelangelo, the birthplace of the world famous sculptor is just 5km from the property and hosts a number of other traditional and popular restaurants as well as a post office, bank, grocery & specialty shops and bars. Every October the town celebrates its Chestnut Festival that draws visitors from all over Italy, the rest of the year it is simply a quiet little Tuscan town rich in history and culture!
Anghiari and Sansepolcro are respectively 25 and 35 minutes away by car and the city of Arezzo on the main railway line is a 50 minute drive from the property. An intercity train into the heart of Florence takes just 45 minutes from Arezzo.
