Gill and Mel have lovingly restored this historical Mill house set in woodlands overlooking the Serchio river and just 5 minutes from one of Tuscany's most famous bridges The Devil's Bridge dating back to the 10th century. The area is also well known for its medieval thermal spas and pools and activities such as horse riding, tennis and canoeing are just minutes from the property.
The Mill house is set on 3 levels with a completely independent entrance from the garden into the guests comfortable dining/living room that features chestnut beams, an open fireplace in addition to central heating plus dining table for 8, sofas, Sat TV, Wifi internet connection, DVD player and stereo. The spacious kitchen is off the lounge and features a dishwasher, microwave, gas hob and electric oven, marble worktops and a dining table for 6 guests. There is also a washing machine in the kitchen.
The 2 charming double bedrooms and a third twin bedroom are situated on the upper floor and each has a top class en suite bathroom with luxury towels & hairdryer. Gill and Mel are committed to ensuring their guests enjoy all the modern comforts in a traditional Tuscan setting.
A single put up bed and also a child's cot can be provided in any of the bedrooms. A highchair may also be made available.
The surrounding woodland provides a charming outlook and along with the wide stone walls ensures the Mill house remains pleasantly cool even during the hottest months of the Tuscan summer. Lovely outdoor areas for sunbathing along with a plunge pool. The garden also features an outdoor dining area complete with BBQ.
If you are looking for complete relaxation after a busy day of visiting the many sites in the area, there are many excellent restaurants in easy reach alternatively Gill and Mel are happy to prepare a meal for you.
Ideally suited to any season with the famous Ski Resort of Abetone hosting slopes for all levels just a 45 minute drive. In the Summer months enjoy the local thermal pools or spend a day on the Coast (35 mins) featuring golden sandy beaches, Marina's, wide avenues, great seafood restaurants along with many cafes, bars and shops.
Following the coast north is the famous seaside town of Portovenere with regular boat tours of the enchanting Cinque Terre, an unforgettable day trip.
In off peak season, the Mill house is also available on a B&B basis.
