Characteristic Villa in a small hamlet with classic Tuscan countryside vista and yet just 10 minutes from the famous Medieval hilltop town of Anghiari.
Restoration of the Villa that dates back to 1650, was recently completed retaining all the original features while incorporating modern comforts. It has been tastefully decorated and furnished throughout. A private swimming pool and terrace with BBQ facilities plus outdoor tables overlooking the grapevines is just a one minute stroll from the front door. The paved terrace surrounding the fully fenced pool also hosts eight sun loungers.
Entrance to the Villa is at the top of ancient stone stairs adorned with traditional geraniums. The first floor consists of a spacious kitchen with a dining table for 8 – 10 guests plus a stone patio with an outdoor table for four. Also a lounge area with additional patio and a sofa/divan that can accommodate an additional 2 guests. This floor hosts the first of three double bedroom and a spacious bathroom which features a bath in addition to shower.
Stone stairs lead to the upper floor that features 2 double bedrooms plus a twin room, the second bathroom and also another lounge with large TV/DVD and very comfortable sofas. Both the double rooms also feature a TV/DVD. The Villa has a portable cot and a highchair.
The ground floor has a storage room and houses the 6 bicycles that are available for the guests to use for exploring the picturesque countryside that surrounds the Villa. Recently added for the 2010 season is also a games room that includes table tennis and a pool table. Also available are 2 sets of golf clubs for a few rounds at the local club.
The hamlet is charming with an abundance of flower pots and offers the opportunity for guests to really experience rural life in Tuscany, alongside the few Italian families that live quietly in this peaceful and picturesque spot overlooking a classic Valley in Tuscany.
In addition to a number of restaurants in nearby Anghiari that offer very authentic Tuscan fare, there is a Pizzeria on the hill opposite the Hamlet that is just a 5 minute drive along country lanes. It is also possible to arrange for a rustic meal to be prepared for you at the Villa and if required the first shopping can be done for your arrival in addition to the complimentary welcome pack.
The Villa is ideally located for Italian Renaissance Art enthusiasts, Obviously the Uffizi in Florence is a treasure house not to be missed, but staying here you are within easy reach of much of the Piero della Francesca Trail including Arezzo, Sansepolcro and Monterchi. Michelangelo's birthplace, Caprese, is also well worth a visit and close at hand.
