Annalisa's Girasole Farmhouse (#324)
Picture postcard moments from every window. A special place and so close to everything. What a lovely Villa, we have had a fantastic week swimming, eating, drinking, sunning ourselves by the pool and watching the landscape change daily as farmers work their land.
J Buckland, UK, 2010-01-14
Cristina's Apartment (#322)
The town was friendly with some great cafe's. The villa was a delight for Christmas day. The children loved the upstairs bedrooms. There were some very thoughtful touches - fresh flowers, fruit and lollies as well as Christmas decorations.
Many thanks Cristina!
Cheers Sally & Rob

Mel & Gill's Mill house (#333)
Beautifully presented and authentically finished Tuscan Villa. Couple this with delightful and helpful hosts, we really felt special from the moment we arrived.
Well situated and close to many fabulous sights, our favourites being Barga and Lerici. Only suggestion would be clearer directions particularly for actual driveway turnoff.
Would absolutely recommend the Mill house to anyone!! Thank you Mel & Gill.

Thanks for a fabulous time, it was just so relaxing! The villa is beautiful with every need you could require. To be built in the Tuscan style made it extra special. Thanks Mirren & Barry for a great break to our Italian adventure.

Elisabetta's Farmhouse - Il Fiumiciattelo (#74)
Elisabetta and Mario were wonderful people and both Tom and I wished that we had more words in Italian than just thank you and hello. We enjoyed our stay there and would recommend them heartily... if we ever come that way again we would stay there in a heartbeat. We found that we would have enjoyed it even more if we had friends with us to pass the evenings with.
Please pass on our regards to Mario and Elisabetta. Maybe next time we will know more Italian... we are talking about taking some lessons when we get home as Italy still remains our favorite country in the world.
Tom and Alfreda, Canada, 2009-10-01
Gill & Mel's Millhouse (#333)
A place of paradise in Tuscany - the accommodation is 5 star with incredible attention to detail and the owners are most welcoming. We highly recommend their Millhouse as a home from home. It has been wonderful to return here after an exhausting day of sightseeing.

Federica & Lilli's Castle (#249)
The castle was quite simply stunning, just the most fantastic place to stay and a unique and unforgettable Wedding venue.
Fede & Lilli are such wonderful people and were great hosts. We had hampers of some of the wine and olive oil the Castle produces in every part we stayed in and they made us very welcome indeed.

Dear Kathy and Eric,
Just a note to thank you so much for a great week in Castelmuzio last week. The house was perfect and we all had a ball. Hooray, it is warm and sunny back in England so we are not feeling so unhappy to be back.
With best wishes

The Villa far exceeded our expectations. The grounds are wonderfully maintained, the Villa in excellent shape and our host Andrea went above and beyond the call of duty in helping us. It was a great opportunity to spend time here and we felt like it was home. Great job!

A lovely, simple but charmingly furnished apartment. We also appreciated that it was very well maintained (including the pool and gardens) and everything worked!

La Loggia, Andrea's (#143)
First class property that suited our purposes perfectly. We were well looked after with Andrea a fine host. The setting was beautiful and the effort that has been put into the property and gardens has paid dividends and we will certainly recommend to all our friends.
All facilities were to be found locally with the possible exception of a good, reasonably priced Restaurant. Good touring centre.

Mirren's Villetta (#221)
This area is so beautiful and peaceful, I don't think pictures, videos or words could describe it.
The accommodation is suberb and assistance from the owner has made our stay even more wonderful.....
The surrounding towns are full of history, the Italian cuisine is wonderful and the community helpful which made us enjoy our stay even with a language difference. Thanks from the Smith Family.

Andrea's Farmhouse - La Loggia (#143)
Many thanks to Andrea for a fantastic holiday.
The Farmhouse is beautiful with fantastic views of the Tuscan Countryside and local Castle - truly stunning.
Really enjoyed the pool which was private and secluded, the local restaurant and the Italian cooking lesson that Andrea arranged for us with Anna.
Andrea was the perfect host, warm, welcoming and relaxed. He was always available and provided any information we required. I am happy to thoroughly recommend Andrea and his Farmhouse to anyone wanting a relaxing, excellent value Tuscan Holiday

La Vigna (#64 Emilia's)
An incredibly relaxing and friendly place, off the beaten track but ideally placed for sightseeing in this beautiful part of the world. The Vigna cottage is simply furnished with basic equipment but satisfied all our needs. Emilia is charming and helpful and makes a wonderful carrot cake!

La Vigna (#64 Emilia's)
A very relaxing break in beautiful and peaceful countryside, close to the delights of Anghiari. Thanks for the warm hospitality and friendly welcome.
A few extras like egg cups for the kitchen and a small sofa are our suggestions. Good luck Emilia, it was good to meet you and stay in your cottage. Many thanks, Roger and Sue

Our stay exceeded our expectations, Rino & Valerie have restored an historic property with taste & flair. Their hospitality was warm & helpful. The 'green heart of Umbria' will stay in our hearts & memories, thanks for a great taste of Italy. Ciao!

La Vigna, Emilia's (#64)
I want to tell you that Mary and I absolutely loved our time at Emilia's. Thank you for helping with the arrangements. Our time there was very busy and my only regret was that we only stayed one week. Xavier and Jo were a wealth of information, and given our lack of Italiano, really helped us connect with the area, and Emilia and her family.
Please say Hello to Emilia from us. We especially enjoyed the day we picked grapes and had two meals with her and her family.

Thank you Andrea for a lovely holiday, we can’t recommend your place highly enough. Your villa was a perfect location for our honeymoon and Charlie's first international holiday. Outstanding location, ideal for visiting both Tuscany & Umbria, a beautiful & comfortable Villa with very warm hospitality…..we will certainly be back! Thanks also for the bottle of wine for my birthday, which made it home safely in our suitcase! Lisa says do you have the recipe for the lovely cake your wife made, even if in Italian!!!

Rino's Country B&B Il Pensante (#33)
What a gem in the Umbrian countryside! Comfortable & tastefully decorated and what a spectacular view. Our breakfasts on the balcony often turned into a 2 hour affair ... Violetta's Apartment (#11)
Justine welcomed us late at night and our apartment had all we needed to refresh ourselves after a long drive in the dark from Rome. Jessica and her little friend were attentive and very professional waitresses at a delicious dinner we enjoyed in the garden on a balmy Saturday evening. What else could one ask for – great food superbly prepared and served uniquely, great company, good wine and incomparable surroundings!

Fantastic bathroom view! Easy parking available opposite apartment, dual lounge rooms ideal for providing 'escape space' for people sharing the accommodation but the lighting could be improved! The accommodation well suited our needs providing most of the basics for a comfortable weeks stay in Monterchi.

Lulu's Mill (#22)
A beautiful, pastoral setting in a small, sunny valley. The Mill has been restored beautifully with great attention to traditional details and we really felt like we were 'living in Tuscany' in this farm like setting. The owners Lulu and Nigel were very helpful and kind.
M Jordan Gudebski (jordangudebski@sbcglobal.net), Oakland, CA, USA, 2008-05-19
Staying at the villa was an absolutely perfect experience. Justine provided us with food for breakfast that lasted several days and Antonio provided us with warm Italian friendship and advice on what to do and where to go. He even complained to the local bank manager on our behalf about what he thought were excessive exchange rates. He did it out of principle. It is a perfect base to explore the beautiful Tuscan and Umbrian countryside and Sansepolcro is full of great restaurants. No reservations about going again.
Ray Allain (rayallain1@juno.com), , 2007-10-16
Our arrival at the villa followed a week of hectic sight-seeing in and around Firenze. We’d planned our second week for relaxation and to enjoy the Tuscan countryside. We were met by Antonio, who welcomed us with a generous warmth and exuberance. The apartment provided ample space for the two of us, was very well equipped and thoughtfully stocked with bread, wine, milk, coffee, fruit and so on. We enjoyed the peace of the garden, pool side and loggia from the first evening and the apartment’s location could hardly have been better providing ready access to many parts of Tuscany and Umbria, near and far. And Justine’s cooking class was a real pleasure.
Our week at Antonio's apartment was probably the most enjoyable week of any vacation we’ve taken.
Brian & Helen Cain, North Carolina, USA, 2007-09-25
We’ve had a wonderful and relaxing trip – thank you so much for sharing this wonderful villa. We have enjoyed exploring the area and look forward to returning soon!

Thank you so much for a lovely week. We had a relaxing and yet fulfilling experience getting to see most of the beautiful towns of Sansepolcro and Anghiari and other villages of this lovely region. Thanks for your hospitality Antonio and what a lovely meal on Wednesday night. I still owe Jessica one more bedtime story. Take care and hope to see you again.
MaiLing & Hamish, Bergamo, Italy, 2007-08-24

This is a very special place – we would like to come back one day. Your children are delightful and a pleasure to have around. The apartment one of the best we have ever stayed in. Keep it up!
Sandy Ferguson & Tony Harrison, Nottingham, Bristol, UK, 2007-07-01
In one word "fantastic". We had a great time your site described the area and Mario’s house very well. You're comms have given confidence. It was the first time we had booked without a high street agent, and would not hesitate to do this again with you. Give our best to Mario and family we hope one day to return!!
John McCullough, Product Strategy Manager, Teva UK, 2007-05-09
A special mention has to go to the caterer Domenico as all our guests simply cannot stop talking about the food at the reception, held in the castle grounds. He supplied all the furniture as well and it was just amazing. The food though was out of this world, all freshly prepared on site by his team. The standard of service was truly exceptional and we could not have hoped for anything better.
Chris and Helen Paine (chris_paine@bcl.co.uk), Burgess Hill, UK, 2009-09-23
I wanted to send a thank you for the wonderful job you and Beatrice did for us last week. The food was just fabulous and really helped to top off our week in Tuscany. It was amazing how you cooked two wonderful dinners for a group of 19. And we had a great time in the cooking class. In fact, I'm going to make two of the anti-pasti dishes tomorrow for a party. We really appreciate all your hard work, professionalism and fantastic cooking skills.
Donna H (dhugly@hugly.com), Dallas, Texas, 2008-08-10
We really enjoyed the experience of being able to relax at our Villa with our guests while Justine and Beatrice cooked a delicious Italian feast for us. Served and cleared away with charm and admirable efficiency; it was the highlight of our stay.
Helen , UK, 2008-06-10
Many thanks for the divine meals that you prepared for our family. Truly, your assistant Beatrice and delightful kids just made it extra special! Please do consider introducing a testimonial page on your website as I believe a lot of people value being able to read comments from previous guests. Don’t forget my other suggestion too, as truly it really makes a vacation much more relaxing when you do not have to do all the shopping, cooking and cleaning up. Best of luck and regards to all.
Roslyn and extended family, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 2007-10-22
We arrived at the villa weary from a full day of travel and as we began to explore the villa the wonderful aromas led us to the kitchen. We were delighted when we saw the beautiful dining table set for our dinner and met Justine who was busy cooking our meal. The meal was ever so Tuscan and delicious as we had hoped and Justine was wonderful. The evening was as we all had pictured our arrival to the villa would be and Justine helped create that memory for us. Thank you for being part of our Italian holiday memories.
Becky, Carolyn and Denise, UK, 2007-10-19
We so enjoyed the 4 catered meals at our rental villa, as we said with 6 kids between us aged from 6 months to 3 years it would have been difficult to go to a restaurant for dinner and it was so wonderful to be able to settle the kids and then relax and enjoy an authentic 4 course Tuscan dinner that each time surpassed our expectations!
John and Kate (Damien's) brother- week 2 are planning their wedding (after getting engaged in Tuscany during the holiday!) and are thinking of a Justine-inspired Italian wedding breakfast. The meal we had was a perfect way to celebrate their engagement, thank you so much for this, and the other wonderful meals you cooked.
Meantime please let us know if you plan to come to the UK so we can organise a special Tuscan dinner for our friends!
Rachel, Damien & friends, UK, 2007-08-25
Thanks Justine, we had a great time with you and Chris, it was fun and we appreciated the company. We look forward to seeing the photos. Thank you again for the recipes, we have already told our family and friends and will be preparing some of them very soon. It was one of the most memorable events we experienced in Italy.
James and Andrea (jamesbradley09@hotmail.com), Toronto, Canada, 2009-07-10
Since we returned to Dublin we have been talking about our Italian cookery lesson/meal. It was the highlight of our holiday in Tuscany this summer - so much so that I would like to repeat - to include Tuscan foods to keep us warm during the long Irish winter! Many thanks Justine & Beatrice.
Anne Murphy, Dublin, Ireland, 2008-09-30
Back in Australia and trying to acclimatize to the winter temperatures and southern timezone! Once again a big vote of thanks for both of the cooking classes you organized for me. We all thoroughly enjoyed them (apart from Bridget's rejected attempt at fresh pasta!) and would certainly recommend them to friends.
John Adams, Melbourne, Australia, 2008-06-05
Starting at 9:30 in Anghiari’s street market with Justine we bought wonderfully fresh local produce, porcini, pecorino and prosciutto, and sat for a brief spell with the obligatory espresso. The day we spent with Justine, Antonio, their children and Justine’s assistant Beatrice was by far the most memorable in a vacation full of truly memorable days. Preparing our five course menu was great fun, with the team of five adults working and joking together under Justine’s clear supervision, while a steady flow of very good Tuscan table wines enhanced the already relaxed atmosphere. Seven hungry people sat down al fresco at 1:30 to savour each course until we finished comfortably full a little before 6:00 that evening. Our expectations of our cooking class were far exceeded in all respects. Helen runs a similar business in the US, so was very interested in learning a different cuisine and observing another teaching style. In all, the class, array of foods, complimentary wines, conversation and the whole atmosphere left us wonderfully contented. We have since recreated the meal for friends at home, who reflected the pleasure we felt that day.
Brian & Helen Cain, North Carolina, USA, 2007-09-25
Thanks so much for coming and teaching us some Tuscan cooking!
Joe and I really enjoyed the class and the food was just divine. We had so much, we had enough for a 4 course dinner the next night. I am trying to think of what was my favourite item but everything was just amazing, and so fresh that I can't decide.
Please tell Beatrice the pasta was fantastic, I definitely recommend it for future cooking classes. If anyone wants a referral, just give them my e-mail. We were thrilled with the class, it was one of the highlights of the trip.

Martina's Panoramic Fortress (#851)
Dear Martina, Daniella & Frederica, Thank you so much for making our wedding such a success. Our guests had a wonderful time as did Steve and I. We would highly recommend the property and your services.
For future guests:
We hired the villa for 4 days and had our symbolic ceremony and reception there. Everything was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. We chose traditional Tuscan food and it was delicious. We organised the wedding from China (where we currently live) and had never visited the villa or met Martina, but everything worked out perfectly.
We would highly recommend the villa for weddings or holidays and Martina is an excellent and efficient wedding planner.
The views from the villa are wonderful and Florence is only an hours drive.
Lucy & Steve Spicer , UK (residing in China), 2010-01-21
We just wanted to write to thank you for your help in organising our beautiful wedding in Anghiari. The day went perfectly and we were pleased to have your relaxed and friendly help through the process of organising our day.
You put us immediately on the right track in terms of documentation and successfully coordinated details at short notice. I know you said it wasn't staged but the onlookers that formed to cheer and clap us after the ceremony definitely made us feel so welcome.
I hope we can be an inspiration for other couples who may want to avoid the hassles and enjoy an elopement in beautiful Tuscany.
Thanks and regards,
Phil and Lauren (philip@muscatello.com.au), Sydney, Australia, 2009-11-24
My fiance and I came across this site whilst searching for a new wedding venue after losing out on our original destination. We were looking for somewhere to stay in Tuscany for a week where we could also have both our families there for our wedding sometime during our stay. Initially we searched on google for a large villa but then we found Federica and Lilli’s Castle at Lippiano, near Monterchi. I think it’s fair to say that we both fell in love with it pretty much straight away.
We then contacted Justine about the whole process of helping to organise everything for the wedding . Having already spent some time looking into getting married in Italy and speaking to several people, I was pleasantly surprised at the very reasonable amount Justine suggested it would cost. From the very start we both got the impression that we were in very capable hands. In fact I have to say that throughout the entire time leading up to the wedding, her communication went way beyond what you could reasonably expect. It was not unusual to receive email replies within minutes, even when we sent them late at night!!
Safe in the knowledge that everything would be organised for us we didn’t feel the need to come to Italy beforehand and not once we were worried about what we would find on our arrival for the week of the wedding itself. When we did finally get to the castle it was quite simply stunning. It is just the most fantastic place to stay and a unique and unforgettable venue.
Fede & Lilli are such wonderful people and were great hosts. We had hampers of some of the wine and olive oil the Castle produces in every part we stayed in and they made us very welcome indeed.
Leading up to the wedding day itself, we had to organise a few bits and pieces with the caterers, florists etc. All of these people were recommended by Justine and very efficiently organised by her. All of their services were incredible reasonable, many times cheaper than what it would be in England. Everything was arranged with very little fuss and we just didn’t really have to worry about a thing.
We held the wedding ceremony in the Town Hall in nearby Anghiari. This was a stunning venue, if a little hot in August! Justine organised all the transport to and from the castle and all in all the day itself couldn’t have gone smoother. We had celebratory drinks in the bar adjacent to the Town Hall which has an incredible terrace with views out over the upper Tiber valley. When we came back to the Castle we had hired a DJ that Justine recommended. He had driven over two hours to get there and like everything else, was just fantastic.
In all, Justine was on hand all day should anything need to be done but thankfully it wasn’t the case. Even had something not quite gone to plan, we wouldn’t have worried with her there. Helen and I will be forever greatful to her for making our wedding and the week’s stay at the Castle truly unforgettable. The service she supplied to us was above and beyond anything we could have expected, and this counts for everything during that week. It simply could not have gone better.
Chris and Helen Paine (chris_paine@bcl.co.uk), Burgess Hill, UK, 2009-09-23
We originally contacted Justine at Tuscany Holiday Villa because we were having difficulty in arranging the necessary paperwork with the Italian and British authorities. Right from the beginning Justine was incredibly helpful and gave us the right information to get us started. Even though we wanted a very small family wedding, we had no idea how difficult it would be to make bookings and other arrangements from the UK. Because Justine was based locally, she was able to make all the necessary arrangements on our behalf and in person. She also recommended the best places to eat and celebrate and helped out with some of the local practicalities that we would never have known about.
The day passed without a hitch. Anghiari is a stunning setting for a perfect wedding and the locals were more than welcoming, as they clapped and cheered the bride-to-be as she made her way to the Town Hall. We had a wonderful day, fantastic food and great hospitality and we are enormously grateful to Justine for making sure this happened.
Matthew and Kathy Womersley, UK, 2008-10-01
Thank you so much Justine for helping out at the last minute with the catering for our 80 guests. Given the time frame of 2 and a half weeks to coordinate with Domenico on the menu and price, you did an amazing job! We had such a wonderful wedding, everybody just loved the food and Jens & I are both very happy! A big, big thank you!
Patricia & Jens, UK/Germany, 2008-09-06
THANK YOU for the Catering last Saturday! We are home again now and today I am finally ready to write some mails and to thank You for the great meal. Our guests were very pleased and especially my grandparents, who never ate Italian food before, liked it a lot! The favourites were the pasta and gnocchi, antipasti and dolce. Also Your staff was very friendly, special thanks to Alessandra! Together with Your Catering this last week in Anghiari will always keep a special memory in all of us!
Ulrike Eichentopf, Burgkunstadt, Germany, 2008-04-11
Since we have been with Justine at Tuscanyholidayvilla.com, we have been more than happy. The site is very easy to use and very informative of Tuscany. Justine has been a gem, always there to answer our questions and queries. What is really nice is having her support and advice and she always gets back to us very quickly! Having Justine is like having a really good friend and we really appreciate her. We also appreciate the fact that THV is not a huge organisation. Keep up the good work Justine.......

I just wanted to thank you for bringing such lovely overseas guests to my property this season that would never have found me without your promotion! The last Canadian couple that stayed were so delighted to participate in the grape harvest & it made me feel very happy. I am starting another English course in February and hope that next season I will be more fluent! Grazie di nuovo. (translated from the Italian)
Emilia (owner of #64), Anghiari, Italia, 2008-11-18
We have had many guests this year who have availed themselves of Justine's culinary expertise, and, without exception, everyone has been highly complimentary even going so far as to book a lesson from her as to how she does it! They have all said what a nice atmosphere she creates for the meal, not to mention the fact that everything is left spotless at the end.
Tuscany Holiday Villa, set up recently by Justine, is proving a very useful website for those of us in the letting business. Apart from advertising our own properties, the information she has put together for all the local events is very much welcomed by our guests.
Sue Hill, Anghiari, Italy, (owner of #75), 2007-10-30
Complimenti! We are delighted to have our villa featured on your website, it really does provide so much helpful information on our lovely part of Tuscany. Great too that we do not need to pass the often elevated agency commissions on to our guests while at the same time it provides an alternative and direct route for people to discover our property. We believe the addition of a Best Local Restaurant page would indeed be worthwhile especially with so many excellent and authentic yet affordable restaurants in the area. Keep up the good work!
